Agribusiness banking specialist Rabobank has appointed Stephen Hamilton as senior rural manager for Bundaberg.
Announcing the appointment, Rabobank acting state manager for Queensland, Brad James said Mr Hamilton – a long-term Bundaberg local – brought extensive finance experience and strong connections across the Wide Bay and Burnett region to the role.
Mr James said Mr Hamilton is a “born and bred Bundaberg local” and has been working in the finance sector for the past 35 years.
“Stephen is committed to assisting farming clients in capitalising on opportunities and achieving their agribusiness goals,” he said.
Mr Hamilton said he was “excited and proud” to be joining the Rabobank team and taking up the role in his hometown.
“With such a diverse range of agricultural production in the region, I’m continually inspired by the depth and breadth of the farming operations, and the vision and innovation displayed by the local farming community,” he said.

Mr Hamilton has specialised in agri business lending for the past decade. He began his banking career in Bundaberg after completing high school, and has experience working across a range of financial sectors.
“Both my family and my wife's family have strong ties to the local community, and I feel fortunate to continue my career while staying connected to the Bundaberg community,” he said.
Mr Hamilton understands the importance of community participation, and he and his family have been involved in Bundaberg’s Brothers Rugby League Club and the Across The Waves Cricket Club over a number of years, as well as participating in local touch football, soccer and hockey competitions.
Mr James said the Rabobank team in Bundaberg, supported by staff in Rockhampton, was strong and well established.
“This level of support and rock-solid base will see Stephen smoothly transition into the role of senior rural manager, supported by Emma Price in Bundaberg,” he said.
